For the 2024-2025 school year (Cohort 1), JSU serves as a sponsor for apprenticeship in:

  • Secondary English Language Arts
  • Secondary Social Studies
  • Elementary Education
This overarching document establishes Jacksonville State University as a sponsor of registered apprenticeship programs. In part, it describes the obligations of the sponsor and how they commit to meet the requirements of a registered apprenticeship program.

JSU Standards – Signed

This document describes the on the job learning and the standard set of related coursework for apprentices in secondary education. Each apprentice will have their coursework evaluated as part of the application process and will receive guidance from the university about their unique course requirements to reach completion.

By completing this document in conjunction with an apprenticeship sponsor, an employer agrees to join the apprenticeship program and adhere to the requirements set forth in the program. This document is only provided for reference and any employer seeking to join an apprenticeship must directly communicate with the apprenticeship sponsor.

Appendix D – JSU – DRAFT Employer Acceptance Agreement

This document will be completed by the applicant desiring to be considered for apprenticeship. This is a multi-step application and apprentices must take responsibility for following the workflow flow described in the application. Prospective apprentice applicants may only apply to sponsors with whom their employer has a signed Employer Acceptance agreement.

This version of the document is not finalized and is only provided as an early reference for potential applicants to review and begin familiarizing themselves.
